When one woman is supported to achieve, her whole family is lifted out of poverty.
The tailoring training project, now at Abimbo village, is already having a huge impact on lives, giving women the means to invest in the future of their families.
Vulnerable women are taught tailoring, alongside basic numeracy and literacy skills, so they are able to go on to work or set up their own business. Our staff ensure every student is supported throughout their training and are able to give back to the project by helping with orphan care and on the community farm.
Students practise their skills making school uniform for the orphans so children can also attend school. It’s important to us our projects make the most impact possible.
Mercy (left) shows great talent and looks forward to a career in tailoring. Before leaving the training programme, students take national exams and the centre has a strong pass rate.
