Borehole brings Clean Water to Hundreds
Challenge Africa’s Clean Water Initiative begun with rain water collection tanks on schools and community buildings. We are very excited that a bore hole 75 ft deep has now been installed which brings clean water to the villagers of Abimbo. A labour of love, built by local people entirely by hand, the borehole has changed lives by bringing fresh, clean water for drinking, washing and irrigation. Villagers have been taught how to maintain this vital asset and a small charge for each bucket of water ensures it is sustainable and valued. Children no longer have to drink dirty water and risk their health whilst young women are able to continue attending school rather than travelling many miles collecting water each day.
