Training leads to employment and breaks the cycle of poverty

Mercy was looking for a way to work herself and her family out of poverty. She studied tailoring for three years at the Challenge Africa sewing centre in Wagusu and passed all of her national exams, becoming a qualified artisan tailor. Mercy has worked hard setting up her own bridal dress business in Mombasa and is now making fine wedding dresses for clients across the region. Mercy can now provide for herself and her family and has broken the cycle of poverty. This is how Challenge Africa changes lives with every donation.
